Discovering San Jose Del Monte

According to old accounts, the town got its name from when a group of hunters surveying the forest for food. As they were walking along the trails of trees and greenery, they stumbled upon a statue of Saint Joseph. As a way to honor the religious statue, they decided to call the place San Jose Del Monte which translates to St. Joseph of the Mountain.

Initially, San Jose Del Monte was part of Meycauayan. However, because of the reduccion conducted by Spaniards during that time, new municipalities emerged, which included this humble town. The first residents of San Jose Del Monte are families of farmers and stonecutters from Meycauayan who agreed to be relocated into the new town. Living a simple lifestyle, they raised fishes and concentrated on agriculture.

Bordered by Rodriguez, Rizal in the East, Santa Maria and Marilao in the West, Norzagaray in the North and Caloocan and Quezon City in the South, this humble town is estimated to have a population of 651,813 according to the 2020 census.

Private Vehicle

Traverse through Jose Abad Santos Avenue and drive straight off to Bataan Provincial Highway. Camella Balanga Height is about 5 km away after passing Balanga City Arch. Look for Vista Mall Balanga (Bataan) as your landmark.

From Dinalupihan SCTEX Exit

Passing through the exit, turn right to Bataan Provincial Highway. In about 5 km after passing the Balanga City Arch., you will reach Camella Balanga subdivision just beside Vista Mall Balanga.
